Limited by the times and reality, the unit size of the Earlstoke Estate is not suitable for the future trend. The proportion of 6-person maisonettes has been decreasing down to around 10%. While the majority of the household types is 3 to 4 people family unit.

This new residential development remains part of the existing complex and is defined by a dense and rational grid, which is following the arrangement of the existing structure (8m x 18m). A catalogues of possible patio typologies are proposed to be inserted in this grid. Each unit is 4m wide. Every house has two entrances, one shared patio and one shared light well.
